Reading Response for Indian Killer
I am doing my reading response on the book Indian Killer by Sherman Alexie. I enjoyed the book the Indian Killer. It was exciting all the way throughout the book. Sometimes it was getting so good i didn't want to put the book down. When I was looking at the book i was thinking this is going to take forever to read. on the other hand, it was a really long book but it was a fast read. I liked how the author wrote the book. How they jumped from character to character in each of the chapters. My favorite/ chapter was the first chapter whenever they were writing whatever came to their mind. Sometimes I thought this book was a little too violent at times. Sometimes i was thinking is the Indian Killer really doing this to those citizens. Also, whenever i was reading the book i could see it happening in my head. The book was a little too predigest and racist at times. It was like living back then when every body wasn't treated equal. Back in that time if another race died instead of white it didn't matter. From the start of the book i guessed/ who the Indian killer was and i had it right all along. I was disappointed because John Smith was my favorite character in the story. In the Story it mentioned that John Smith had Schizophrenia. I've seen movies and learned about Schizophrenia in phycology class. John Smith was hearing voice in his head telling him to hurt people and he couldn't tune them out. Like the movie we watched with Will Ferrell. Were the doctor thought he had Schizophrenia because he was hearing voice's in his head.I also like how they started off the book where John was born and it continued through his life. I also liked the story sometimes went back in time and then it went back to the present.I didn't like the ending to this book the reason i didn't like the ending is when John killed himself. It would have liked it better if John Smith had lived but got help with his illness. What makes a book good is after each chapter the reader is guessing what is going to happen next. This was one of the best books I have ever read.

reading response
This is my response to the book, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas A Salvage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream"
I thought the book was okay. It started off slow but then it started to get exiting as it went along. I thought it was a little hard to follow sometimes. It was hard to tell if he was dreaming or if it actually was going on. It seemed this was a true story and he was telling it over again the way it happened. The language they used sometimes in the book was a little to much. My favorite part in the story was when they were on their way to Las Vegas and they picked up the hitchhiker. They could of made the story better if they got caught by the cops and they were in a high speed chase. Then they could of got taken to jail and escaped or something that would have made it more exciting. Overall it was a pretty good book to read.

The American Dream
I think the American Dream is almost the same for everyone. Whenever we are little we dream that we will grow up and live the life of luxury. Only a few of us end up living that lifestyle. We can even dream while we are sleeping about living the life of luxury with all the nice things.
The first part to my American Dream is freedom. Freedom is being able to express yourself however you wish to. Citizens should be able to dress how they want and talk how they want without being questioned. There are people from other countries that wish they lived in America. They have to suffer everyday to live.
The second part to my American dream is a good job and a steady source of income. If you don't have a job you don't make any money. If you don't have money then you won't make it in society. Everyone wants money but you have to work for it. With the economy so bad now it's hard to find a job. There are tons of people who are getting fired and laid off. If you have a job your lucky because their are people that wish they did.
The third part to my American dream is family. If you don't have family then you have no one to turn to for help. If you are in trouble you can count on your family for help. Without family then you have no love and support.
Whenever we were little we made goals for ourselves to achieve. We didn't always achieve those goals but it thought us a lesson and will help us succeed in our lives.

The Quintessential 21st Century American
The topic of this essay is to describe the Quintessential 21st century American. My idea of the quintessential 21st century American is someone that's still living and been through a reasonable amount of time on earth. Everyone is different so there is no specific answer to this question. For example: People are different because might say the opposite of someone else about this topic. Everyone is different not one person is the exact same as any other. Back in the early nineteen hundreds it was tough to make it in the world. The economy wasn't great and people didn't get paid as much money. There weren't as many medicines to help people like there is today. Also, children would quit school and help their families during the day. In the 21st century the world has industrialized. Now whenever someone is sick usually they can be cured, the economy still isn't great but people get paid more because minimum wage goes up every year so Americans can afford goods they need to live. Now children don't have ti drop out of school to help their families. It is better to be an American now then it was back in the early nineteen hundreds because the technology is advanced and so many other things that we need in life.
